What is Molecule 520?

Jeff Siegel recently released a presentation with the heading “This ‘Molecule 520’ Changes Everything” to promote his newsletter, Green Chip Stocks.

However, he spent the majority of it talking about a molecule that may revolutionize the healthcare industry. The key takeaways:

  • Molecule 520, as he calls it, can cure a variety of addictions and ailments. Some of the complications it is effective against are opioid addiction, alcoholism, anorexia, PTSD, diabetes, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, just to mention a few.
  • Scientists from Stanford, John Hopkins, and Harvard are studying how it alleviates those problems and the FDA has even granted it “breakthrough status.”
  • Big Pharma and tiny biotech startups have not been left behind and have spent billions on research. Some drugs based on the mysterious compound have gone into stage 2 trials.
  • Some private companies may even go public on the back of this and he cites a “little-known company” that filed its IPO to become the next unicorn (a startup worth $1 billion).

With all this going on, what is “molecule 520”?

After doing a bit of research, I concluded that he is referring to psychedelics.

Psychedelics are a class of psychoactive drugs that trigger unusual states of consciousness and hallucinations via serotonin 2A receptor agonism. Examples include LSD, ibogaine, suboxone, and psilocybin.

Psychedelics are classified as schedule 1 drugs, which means that they are illegal federally.

Although this has made the scientific study more challenging, research has shown that they are physiologically safe and they don’t cause addiction. They are even known to assist in the treatment of alcohol addiction and depression.

Why do I think he is talking about psychedelics?

The smoking gun that gave it away is when he quotes Kevin O’Leary (from Shark Tank) saying:

“This could save lives, cure depression, help alcoholism, get people off opioids — why wouldn’t I want to be invested?”

This was taken from a tweet Kevin posted in December 2019.

Jeff has also been writing articles about investing in companies developing psychedelic cures on the Energy and Capital website. There is one example from October where he talks about psychedelics curing addiction “in a matter of days.”

Who is Jeff Siegel?

Jeff Siegel is an investment analyst who has been active for 30 years.

He is a bestselling author and is the editor of Green Chip Stocks. It is a publication that focuses on investing in organic agriculture, alternative energy, and legal cannabis. Other editors like James Altucher have tackled pot investments

He has made appearances on TV to discuss “world-changing technologies” and the investment opportunities that they create.

His investment strategy is built on that: finding tech trends and investing in them before they go mainstream. He is particularly keen on investments in the alternative energy sector.

To find those opportunities, he travels to different locales and even attends events to talk to the people running companies so he can assess the true financial health of said companies.

How to invest in Molecule 520

To make money off of Molecule 520, you have to invest in three companies that Jeff has identified.

He has even written a report about them that’s titled Three Magic Molecule Picks for Quadruple-Digit Gains. The only way to get your hands on a copy is by subscribing to his newsletter, Green Chip Stocks.

After doing some research, I was able to identify one of the companies he has in his report. Its name is Mind Medicine Inc. or MindMed (MMED.NE). As he was releasing the presentation, it was only listed on Canada’s NEO exchange.

You can buy shares over the counter (OTCBB: MMEDF) if, by the time you decide to invest, it won’t be on an exchange – this is likely to change as it has applied to be on NASDAQ.

As for the other two, I couldn’t identify them and you’ll have to read the report to find out their names.

Turning our attention back to his newsletter, here is what you will get if you become a member of Green Chip Stocks:

  • Weekly updates: Every week, Jeff sends you a newsletter with a new investment opportunity and a brief about the ongoing market events that can impact your investments. “Green Chip Stocks” are companies that are in organic agriculture, alternative energy, or legal cannabis. Those are the kinds of businesses his research focuses on.
  • Access to the encrypted website: From there, you can read special reports and access the model portfolio.
  • Free invitations to private research trips. You can join Jeff on one of his adventures as he seeks new investment opportunities.
  • A free copy of a second report called The Magic Molecule: The Most Important Discovery in Half a Century. This one contains details of how Molecule 520 (psychedelics) works. Jeff lists his references in case you want to learn more about them.

Subscription Fee

If you subscribe for one year, you pay $99. However, there is an offer whereby two years cost $179 if you pay upfront.

Is Molecule 520 legit?

I think Molecule 520 is a legit presentation.

Although it is not talked about much in investment circles, the psychedelics industry is starting to spark interest in investors who see it as a frontier industry where early entry may be rewarded with massive returns. High-profile investors like Kevin O’Leary are taking it seriously proving that Jeff may be on to something here.

That doesn’t mean that you will be guaranteed any returns if you start investing; just that it is an exciting prospect worth looking into.

My Final Word on Molecule 520

As I mentioned, psychedelics are still illegal federally and research into how they can be used to treat all those illnesses that Jeff is talking about is in its infancy. Sure, there have been breakthroughs and proof that they can work but more has to be done for them to go mainstream.

The good news is that the FDA has granted one psychedelic-based therapy “breakthrough status” and stakeholders are taking it seriously. Companies such as MindMed doing well will also be the kind of thing that shows that psychedelics may be worth looking at as a viable investment.

Jeff and his followers will hope that “Molecule 520” will follow the path charted by Marijuana, which though federally banned, has blossomed into one of the most talked-about investments.
